LP® CanExel®: Made Here, Made Right
For more than 40 years, LP® CanExel® siding has been manufactured in Canada at our East River, Nova Scotia, mill. More than 300 million metres of premium CanExel prefinished siding have been produced by the mill since it first opened. We are extremely proud that our high quality engineered wood siding products have protected so many homes and businesses over the decades, all while providing many Canadian jobs. Meet some of the people that make the LP CanExel name what it is today.
Behind the LP CanExel name is a family of talented employees. From the office staff to the press operators to the drivers who transport the finished products, each member of the CanExel team is dedicated to making a difference for our customers. Some employees have been working at the mill since it opened, and a few are second-generation LP employees.
“We all get along well, which is surprising,” jokes one LP East River employee. “Sometimes when people have been together so long, that isn’t the case!”
‘Safety Before Anything Else’
CanExel employees note the great emphasis that LP places on safety. When they first started at the mill in the 1960s, safety wasn’t a big issue. Now they understand that the safety of each employee is LP’s top priority, and all strive to go above and beyond what is required to ensure a safe working environment.
The second priority is working to produce a product that is unsurpassed in quality. “You’d be hard-pressed to find any flaws,” says another employee. “If we can’t make the best, we just don’t make it.” It’s precisely why so many contractors and consumers are choosing LP CanExel siding over other brands.
