Welcome to the LP® CanExel® Blog

Welcome to the new LP® CanExel® blog! On our blog, we look forward to helping you explore the world of engineered wood siding, along with the latest industry news, home improvement trends and ideas to help you maximize your home and lifestyle.

Raise Your Expectations

Just as there are reasons consumers buy genuine Rolex® watches over imitations, there are equally important reasons to choose authentic LP CanExel siding over other siding brands. No other siding material offers the rich cedar grain, the incredible weather resistance or the long-lasting, fade-resistant finish of CanExel siding. These features are surefire signs that you’ve got the real thing. The end result is enduring curb appeal for your home and low maintenance for you.

Why You Can Expect More

LP CanExel has been trusted by homeowners and builders for over 30 years. Our siding is made in Canada, so we know just what it takes to ensure siding can stand up to decades of wear and tear. But we don’t just want our siding to be durable – we also want it to look great! Here are some of the most important advantages of LP CanExel siding.

  • Premium heat-cured finish with five coats of paint and sealer
  • The authentic look of real wood with easy maintenance
  • Resistance to cracking, splitting, warping, splintering and buckling
  • Choose from 23 rich, dynamic colours
  • Proven performance backed by a 5-/15-/25-year North American limited warranty

When choosing siding for your home, insist on premium CanExel exterior wood siding. It’s the siding that gives you uncompromising quality and durability. It’s a distinct advantage over the competition that helps your home look beautiful after years of harsh Canadian weather. When you choose CanExel exterior siding, you’re making a bold statement that you are proud of your home and only trust tried-and-true brands. Expect more from authentic CanExel.

I was visiting the businesses of our clients in Europe – holiday parks – and they provide ‘mobile’ homes made of the canexcel siding and I was wondering this is a product that is available for use in the USA? Could you tell me where the factory is or if you work with someone in the industry that develops a modular type product?

    1. Amy Lindholm says:

      Jasmine,
Thanks for reaching out to us. So glad you like our product! I will have someone contact you shortly.

Hello, do you have window trimming options?
I received samples in the mail yesterday, thank you!

    1. Amy Lindholm says:

Melissa, we do indeed have trimming options. Complete the look of your home with LP® SmartSide® trim. A full line of aluminum accessories is also available at your local CanExel® dealer to complement your chosen style. See lpsmartside.com for details regarding our trim products, or reach out to your local retailer, contractor or designer for more information.

Amy, would you describe cliffside as more grey or taupe, in the brown family?

    1. Amy Lindholm says:

Sue, Cliffside is a member of the brown family and tends to show as more of an earthy taupe than as a grey. We are happy to send you up to four product samples so you can interact with and see Cliffside and up to three other colours up close. Visit http://www.canexel.ca/request-a-sample/ to request a sample!

Love your website & product lines. I’m not able to locate on your website if CanExel sells shingles for house “peaks”

    1. Amy Lindholm says:

Hi Nancy – We’re glad to hear you love LP CanExel! At this time, LP CanExel prefinished siding is only available in our three main lap siding styles: Ridgewood D-5, Ced’R-Vue and UltraPlank. However, it can be installed anywhere on the home’s siding exterior, including gables (the generally triangular area beneath the edges of intersecting roof lines).

Or, if you’re looking for coordinating trim for your home, can complete the look of your home with LP SmartSide Trim and Siding. Similar to LP CanExel, it is a durable, engineered wood siding that gives homeowners the natural look of wood while offering exceptional resistance to the elements. You can learn more at http://www.lpsmartside.com. Please let us know if we can help in any other way. Thank you!

We are looking at the Canexel Cliffside colour siding to put on our lake cabin. Our roof is brown and the eaves trough, soffit, and facia are a darkbrown (nutmeg or chocolate)colour. Our windows and doors are white. We are thinking of going with 3 or 4″ trim around the windows and doors that matches the brown eaves and leaving the corners as Cliffside . Will this colour scheme look good? ( Can’t get your Visualizer to work). Thanks for your input

    1. Amy Lindholm says:

I think it will look fine. Traditionally dark browns go well with mid to light blues and cliffside is not a dark tone. Sorry that the visualizer isn’t working, we are looking into it.
